Rescue Me ID: 14-10-29-00315Rocky (male)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rocky is very attentive to humans. Would be great for a Veteran. Loves to run, cuddle, and play. Crate trained and house broken. Extremely treat and toy motivated. Great with low level dogs. Not tested with infants, toddlers, or children under 7, nor small dogs. He gives himself his own pet-a-cures and has beautiful nails. The Problem: Older female Bully in home is no longer compatible, can't take his teenage antics, and wants to attack him. He is not safe and must be crated while in the home. Not fair to him. He desperately needs his own home and new family.

Hello! My name is Kylie and I'm the Dairy Cow look-alike in the litter. I'm mostly black, but have a white chest and feet. They tell me that I'm the calmest of the crew and I think it also reflects that I'm the smartest. I'm one of 6 pups in my litter that were found as tiny babies in the Corridor of Cruelty. Thankfully we were all rescued and were given a real chance at life. We were all very sick early on with Parvo and these nice volunteers pulled us all through with lots of love, attention and medication. We also had an issue with our skin that has been resolved too. We are guessed to be Hound/American Staffordshire Terrier Mixes and ... (Read More)were born in April, 2014. Every one of us has a different color and pattern, which makes us easy to tell apart, but we are all so unique and good looking. I'm the best looking one in the group, of course! We are all very social, silly, playful and adore lots of attention. Our favorite things to do are run through the yard, roll around with each other while tugging on ears and play with all of the toys we've been given. We are very loving and happy puppies and we really enjoy all of our new visitors, both dogs and people. We are still young, so we need more work and time on our potty training and leash walking, but we are smart, so we will be perfect soon enough. Our ideal new families have plenty of time to play and teach us everything a puppy needs to know, active enough to take me places like the park and on your adventures and affectionate so I grow up knowing how much I am loved. Right now I'm a puppy, but as I grow bigger, I might weigh 50-60 pounds. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Kylie, please go to www.corridorrescue.org, click on More Information and then either the Foster or Adopt options and submit an application. My adoption fee is $150, which includes my spay, microchip, all of my puppy shots and a clean bill of health. Thanks! (Less)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Well, hello there. My name's Ebbie. I'm 3 1/2 years old, and my foster parents think I'm the perfect dog. They'd adopt me themselves if my foster sister wasn't so intent on being an only dog. That's ok, though, because my foster mom says nice people will be lining up around the block to meet me once they hear how I stay so quiet in my room and get so happy to see them when they come home from work. My favorite thing is cuddling with my foster parents. They talk to me in this weird baby voice, but maybe they think it's dog language? I'll forgive them because they also give me treats, which I love, love, love, and did I mention bones? Yum! And ... (Read More)sometimes they scratch my belly ... wow, does that ever feel good! You wanna know what else I love? Taking a walk in the neighborhood! It's the greatest. I'm still figuring out the leash thing, but it's not too hard. I do love watching bunny rabbits too. Oh how I wish my foster mom would let me chase just one. She's a stickler for making sure I learn how to be a good girl, though. I know how to sit, and I'm figuring out how to lay down when she asks me to. She keeps saying, 'Stay.' Whatever that means. We'll get on the same page one of these days. I need to teach her a thing or two about good communication. I'm a really good runner if I do say so myself. I'm quick on my feet and quite a jumper. Sometimes I slalom around my foster mom's backyard plants, so maybe you could teach me some agility? I might just become a pro. I really can't wait to meet you! I'll be such a good girl. I'm house trained and crate trained and very respectful of others' belongings. You can trust me. Although I love to spend time with my family, I understand someone has to make money to keep my food bowl full. I'll wait patiently and quietly for you to come home, and boy, will my tail wag when I hear you come in the door! If you're looking for a mature young dog with the heart of a puppy to join your family, I'm the one! I'm 44 pounds with a super athletic build, and I've been told I have beautiful eyes and the softest fur. Wouldn't you love to see my smiling face every day? (Less)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

The first thing to strike you about Madison is her incredibly beautiful coat full of fawn and chocolate brindles. The second thing is the soulful expression in her eyes. This is a dog who will gaze at you with the full force of her personality until you bend to her will, grab a ball, and take her outside. Why a ball? Because Madison is a maniac for the Game of Fetch. When Madison isn't forcing you to perfect your pitching arm, her favorite thing to do is lie on the rug with a chewy. She prefers to be near enough that she can lean into your legs, but she isn't at all clingy, and has shown no interest in climbing onto the furniture. Madison ... (Read More)prefers the company of people to that of dogs, and her behavior toward her foster-brothers is polite disinterest. She'll play enthusiastically for a short amount of time, but isn't the tireless tumbler that many pets are. She is not at all aggressive, but will make it clear that she is the dog in charge. Madison is crate trained and has been doing well in the house. She walks well on a leash, but is very strong, so a harness is advised for easier control. She is protective of her toys and bones, and will warn other dogs away, but is extremely relaxed with people. While Madison is not particularly large, she is incredibly muscular. For this reason, we do not recommend her for families with small children Her adoption includes all vaccinations, worming, rabies vaccination, spay, heartworm neg, microchip including registration.     Beauty is what the volunteers named this precious girl the day she was rescued. It was true that day and every day since, but now we know it applies to her personality too. Beauty is about 2 years old, 44 pounds, healthy and desperately seeking her new family. We say desperately because she's an affection seeker and belly rub lover. You can see it in her eyes that she loves people and just wants to be with them. Beauty gets along well with adults, kids, dogs, and goats-yes, Beauty lives with 2 goats. She's curious about the cats and seems to want to interact with them, but so far we've let her sniff while supervised. She's a lover, so ... (Read More)everyone is welcome in her pack. Her most enjoyable moments are running through the yard and of course, laying down for a good belly scratch. When she is running really fast through the yard, she tucks her bum down and it is so cute and wonderful to see her happy. We actually haven't seen an unhappy day for Beauty since the day she was rescued. She has put the past behind and is focusing on the future and living life with her new people. Beauty walks nicely on her leash, but since she likes to run through the yard so much, we think she might be a great running partner with a little practice. She knows the command sit and easy when taking a treat gently already, and with a little training, she will easily be able to master other commands. She loves to chase the ball, but the chase is all that is in it for this girl, so we won't call her a master fetcher. She LOVES to ride in the car on any adventure you are on, even if it's just a ride to the park or the store. The ideal family for Beauty is active, fun and affectionate, which also describes her to a T. She's a healthy girl that is just waiting for the perfect family to come scoop her up. If you would like to adopt Beauty, please fill out an adoption application at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Her adoption fee is $150. Please contact us at corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com with any questions. To foster Beauty, please submit a foster application at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab.     Trudy is a wonderful young lady rescued by Cody's Friends Rescue and has been a great fostered girl! She shares a home with 5 other dogs of various sizes, sex & breed and seems to fit in very well with all of them! She gets compliments on what a great dog she is at my vet and other places and she has been one of my favorites! Trudy has a great energy level; she's potty, house and crate trained as well. He currently lives in a kennel at animal control, so you can see why he'd be so excited to go outside to play. Once he gets out he calms down real fast and is a goofy boy.     Hi, I'm Miel. I'm a cute little honey. After all, I was given the name Miel because I'm so adorable, and Miel is the Spanish word for honey. I was born around January 2014. I'm a medium-sized girl of about 48 pounds, and not expected to get any bigger. Someone left me out to fend for myself in a parking lot, but luckily a nice lady from Corridor Rescue came and took me into her home. I am a little pit mix, but my exact breeds are unknown. My favorite hobby is to chew on chew bones. Give me one, and I am set for the day. I am so passionate about chewing on a bone that if you give me one, I will 'grrrrrr' with delight. I really ... (Read More)enjoy living with other doggies in the same home. Cats are okay too, but I am full of excitement when I see one, because I want to play with it. I absolutely LOVE to go on walks. All you need to do is get out a leash, and I will start making the cutest little squeaking noise. It's so much fun to walk around the neighborhood and see what's happening. Unless it's raining, which means thunder, and that is scary for me. Most of all, I love to snuggle up closer to my people. At bedtime, I love to cuddle up with you and nuzzle you with my nose. I love to be affectionate with my people, and would love an owner that likes to protect and coddle me. Like a human baby! When you come home, I am so happy to see you that I'll literally jump into your arms and nuzzle you with kisses. I haven't been around children yet, but would probably do wonderfully with an older child that could handle my passion for life! An active home with people around most of the day would be excellent for me. Otherwise, lots of walks and exercise will do too! Wouldn't you like some honey to sweeten up your day? Then please fill out an adoption application for Miel online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Miel's adoption fee is $150.     Hey there! My name is Little Boy Blue, but my foster mom just calls me Blue. I am about 1.5 years old and am a pittie mix. My foster mom says I'm a pocket pittie, since I'm only 40 lbs, and that I have the BEST ears ever! I'm also a tripod. I had to have my back leg amputated because I had been hit by a car before my foster mom found me and it had healed all wrong. I'm not like a typical back leg amputee though, I don't have a nub. They had to take my whole leg, including the hip. But don't let that scare you! I get around GREAT, if not better, now that I'm not dragging a painful leg around. I'm heartworm negative and am current on ... (Read More)preventative. I like other dogs and people of all ages. I tend to get a little 'mouthy' when I play, so older kids would probably be best. Foster mom isn't sure about cats, but they have a semi-feral they bring into a crate at night when its cold and I don't mess with him. I'm potty and crate trained and actually like going into my crate when I'm sleepy. The couch is also another one of my favorite places! Blue's adoption fee is $125. Jennie would be good as an only animal since she does exhibit heightened interest in smaller animals. Jennie is currently learning basic commands and leash etiquette. Jennie ... (Read More)is fully house trained and will alert you by going to the door if she needs to go out. Jennie is a very gentle girl who loves to take long naps a lot of the day. She does not do well in a crate but has successfully been left alone on a daily basis in the house without any problems. No puppy chewing and destruction antics from Jennie! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-23-00369Hope (female)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hope is an affectionate, protective, and loyal Staffordshire Terrier mix. She's about 18 months old (11/2013) and weighs approximately 40 lbs. She has a snowy white coat with a few tan freckles on her ears and a chocolate kiss of a nose. Hope was dumped on an elementary school campus. When the groundskeepers found her, they tied a rope around her neck and drug her out of the gates, forcing her onto a busy street. She was thin and both ears were horribly infected, but she has become a very healthy little lady! Hope loves to play ball, frisbee, and take walks. She loves to meet new people, and is very good with children of all ages. She gets ... (Read More)a long well with all dogs, but she is NOT at all a fan of felines. Hope does have low hearing abilities, most likely due to the ear infections she had when we found her. So she is not entirely deaf and is quite good on picking up things happening around her with her eyes and vibrations. Her low hearing is not something you pick up on right away. She has adapted to it very well and even knows hand signals. The ideal home for Hope would be one with one other dog about her size or just her as an only dog. She loves attention, loves to be by your side and usually is leaning on you or has one paw touching you. She will be a loyal companion and all she will ask for is your love and attention. Hope has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and preventives and is house- and crate-trained. She has also had professional training and has gone above and beyond our expectations. Hope's adoption fee is $125. If you, or someone you know, are interested in adopting Hope, please fill out an adoption application on our website at: www.forgottendogs.org/adoption_application (Less)

From the mean streets of Fifth Ward to Spoiled Rotten in no time at all. Queen Serie was nursing a HUGE litter of pups when she was saved from a horrible fate of litter after litter. She's a very loving dog...will roll over in a heartbeat for a belly rub and every now & then will give you that full-teethed 'Chi Smile' that makes me laugh out loud! Serie gets along well with other dogs and loves everyone she meets. She is crate trained to the point she doesn't want to stay outside any longer than she has to. She knows what she likes (food & napping) and that's all she really wants out of life. From hell on earth to the lap of luxury...now she ... (Read More)only needs to find a family to call her own. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Felix is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds and is a happy guy. He loves to be with his people. Prefers to sit in your lap whenever he has the opportunity. Felix has grown to love toys and playing with humans and other dogs. Felix does not do well with cats so he is looking for a home that has no cats. We found Felix while on our feeding route. He was limping and being bullied by another dog. We took him in and found that he had an old injury that has already healed. There is nothing the vets can do for him surgically. He will sometimes limp if he overdoes it. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Felix please ... Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Orion is fully trained as a world class ballerina! Growing up on the mean streets, but not being mean, led Orion to the shelter of a ballet studio where he picked up the trade and quickly found he was a natural. Traveling from show to show has taken him around the world and he has seen it all, but had to retire early due to a serious eyelid injury (never mention The Madagascar Incident around him!!). Upon retiring, Orion returned to his roots in Fifth Ward, where he quickly discovered was not the right place for a ballerina and his pink tutus!! Needless to say, Orion has had a tough retirement. We found him hiding under a vacant house with ... (Read More)bite wounds from head to toe. He was swollen, infected, battered & bruised, but could still pirouette with the best of them!! Probably due to his days in the limelight, Orion loves attention and will do whatever you need him to do as long as he can be by your side. Whether keeping your feet warm while you read a good book or walking with you on an evening stroll through the neighborhood, Orion is ready & willing. Orion is a playful kid who aims to please. He loves all people and most dogs but, due to his rough past, needs to be in a home with no other dominant males. Orion will not start a conflict but he also will not always back down from one. He's a lover (and a ballerina), not a fighter! Please consider making Orion a part of your family, he will make you smile day after day! Check out the following link to see a news story about Orion was first rescued in 2012. He has no fully recovered from his wounds and has put on much needed weight. http://www.examiner.com/article/orion-a-forgotten-dog-of-the-5th-ward (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Betty is a true survivor! Sole heiress to the throne in a small Turkish Province (the Queen was a dog lady), Betty was cast out of her Royal Family because she fell in love with a peasant hound and refused to abandon him, at all costs! As part of her banishment she was fashioned with a very tight metal cable around her neck and tied by rope from her neck to a remote cactus, deep in West Texas somewhere. She managed to survive by eating the cactus until she finally ate it down below the rope that held her captive. But the damage was done, she grew up tied to that cactus and her adult neck was now much bigger around than when the cable & rope ... (Read More)were tied on. Both had become nooses, cutting into her skin & leaving open wounds. When I found her she was dragging both, near starved to death and with a look of fear and concern in her eyes that would make anyone stop to help. She was so happy when I removed them that she ran as fast as she could in big circles and has been my best buddy every since! She's a very sweet girl who loves her people deeply and will do anything for you. She wants nothing more than to make you happy and she goes about doing it with such contagious joy that it makes you stop & smile. She loves to play and is a pretty goofy girl, jumping and circling as if she's putting on a show for you. Betty will make a great addition to any family so come meet her today and get a glimpse of what true royalty is all about! (Less)
