Rescue Me ID: 15-01-24-00403Jersey (female)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Jersey is an affectionate smart social butterfly that loves kids, woman and men. She also like dogs but she prefers human companionship over canine so she would be just as happy in a home without dogs as with them. She plays a little with her fellow fosters, but I would not consider her a match for a dog that needs a playful companion. Her current foster home has 8 other dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments, and Jersey gets along with them all. She sits and goes to her crate on command. She is also house trained with or without a doggy door. Right now her foster home has a doggy door and she loves it because she loves to go outside often ... (Read More)and hang out. She comes when called and is very obedient. She loves hugs, kisses and rub downs and is a great snuggler. She is crated when her foster mom is at work from 7:15-5:15. She sleeps where she wants to at night which is either on a dog bed or in her foster mom's bed. Jersey sees cats and other small non-canine animals as well as some farm animals as prey, so she would not be a good match for homes with these types of pets. If you have questions about Jersey, please email her foster mom Gayla at ggwiths2r@gmail.com Her adoption includes age appropriate vaccinations, worming, rabies vaccination, spay, heartworm test (for dogs over 6 months), microchip including registration. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed

The dominant breed is definitely Stafford Bull Terrier. As with many other mixes of unknown past, the other breed(s) can be questionable--might have some Catahoula. She is gentle and responds to the animal control officers as well as the volunteers. She walks easily on leash. She would need to be spayed before adoption. This one would make a great family or individual pet.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Stafford Bull Terriers are big, powerful, and can be very intimidating. Bob is a gentle as he is big. This young adult Stafford Terrier-X seems very healthy. His tail is bobbed, thus his name. He has good energy and walks easily on leash, but would need a secure large, fenced yard to exercise and play. He would become a loyal member of a family or individual that would love him.

Animal ID: 1283935Buster Buddy (male)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Mange (Demodectic)

Buster Buddy was found roaming the streets in my neighborhood extremely underweight and with dermatitis, which he is currently on medication for and which will also go home with him to his new owner. I would love to keep him but already have 4 dogs, which he gets along great with and is very playful towards. He does play kind of rough and is mouthy, so an experienced owner would be best to teach him to play gentle. I would recommend only allowing him to play with other big dogs so he doesn't accidentally hurt a smaller dogs because he doesn't yet know his own strength, same with small children, he is very friendly to all people but can ... (Read More)be mouthy and likes to jump up when he gets excited. He is a chewer of any and all things as most puppies are, so be prepared to puppy proof where he will be staying. He is also an inside dog and very used to being around people and other dogs and will cry and whine if you seclude him and he can hear that there all still people home. He eventually quiets down. He will also whine and cry when hungry or if he needs to go outside to potty. He is housebroken. Because I get up early to go to work Buster Buddy is used to eating breakfast between 4-5 AM and will whine between these times to eat. I apologize to the new owners who will probably want to break him of this habit and feed him at a later time in the morning He is a big baby and a lover! He knows sit and we are working on quiet. He has a license in Harris county, is micro-chipped,has been examined by a vet, and is current on all his shots and I his paperwork to prove it to pass along to his new owner. A dog is a long time decision and if you cannot afford to or have the time to care for and train Buster Buddy please do not inquire, he is very special to me and needs a very loving forever home Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have or for more pictures of Buster Buddy.     Meet Rosalie! This stunning, 60-pound, beautifully red-colored girl will sweep you off your feet with her charming looks and her playful personality. After living a rough life on the streets while pregnant, she was rescued and given the opportunity to deliver 6 beautiful puppies shortly after her arrival at our veterinary clinic. After taking great care of her little ones, mom was treated for the heartworm disease that the cruel streets of Houston left her with and was spayed. She appears to be an American Staffordshire terrier mix born around December of 2011 (approximate). Rosalie is currently living it up in a wonderful boarding ... (Read More)facility and she is heartworm-free, has put on some much needed weight, and is socializing with other dogs and people. She is a moderate-energy dog, meaning she can be quite playful and will run and chase a toy or ball across the yard and once indoors will settle down for a nice, quiet evening either in her crate or at your feet. She gets along great with other dogs that have a calm demeanor, but can be a little impatient with high energy dogs or young puppies. She takes direction and training very well and learns quickly. She is always looking to please her human companions because she loves their attention. She loves to be scratched behind her ears, at the base of her tail and of course always enjoys a long belly rub. Rosalie is perfectly crate-trained, housebroken and knows how to walk on a leash exceptionally well. Rosalie is fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, and has all of her current vaccinations.) She is house and kennel-trained. She has an exuberant personality, a love for life and enjoys adventure. She loves taking long hikes and is really well-behaved on her leash. Miss Rosalie will be a beautiful addition to your pack. To foster or adopt Rosalie, please submit an application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Foster homes are provided with everything they need for their foster animal at no charge. Rosalie's adoption fee is $150 for folks living in Houston, Texas, where Rosalie is currently located. Rosalie can also be safely transported outside of Texas to many major cities via the United Airlines Petsafe program for an additional $225 which includes health certificate, airline fees, and travel crate for a grand total of $375 if outside Houston, with payment due prior to transport. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tucker was found in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas and he is ready to find his forever family. Happiness for Tucker is a home where he can be the only dog, follow a daily routine, and just hang out with his people. Tucker is around 6 years old now (estimated birthday is November 2009), and he is fully trained. He currently weighs about 55 pounds, which is the perfect size for a lap dog, right? His shiny, soft brown coat and white vest are just gorgeous. His soulful eyes tell a story of sadness from his past, but also of hope for a wonderful, loving future. Our best guess on his mix of breeds is American Staffordshire terrier ... (Read More)and chocolate lab. He's smart, witty and athletic, a perfect mix! All dogs have favorite hobbies and although Tucker isn't interested in toys for long, he LOVES to run alongside a bicycle for exercise. He gets excited when he sees his friend get theirs out of the garage. He also walks very well on his leash for daily strolls around the park. This is an excellent way to bond with this sweet guy too. Tucker is a very sweet, affectionate and quiet dog with his humans. He is fully crate-trained and will make a dash for his crate for feeding time. Tucker is not much of a talker, so that is a huge bonus for you and your neighbors. We would love nothing more than to find this great boy a family to call his own. All he needs is love and the opportunity to adore his new people every day of his life. He is fully vetted (neutered, microchipped, and has all of his current vaccinations). He is house and kennel trained and walks very well on his leash! To adopt or foster Tucker, please submit an application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Tucker is available for either temporary foster or permanent adoption. Foster homes are provided with everything needed for the animal free of charge. His adoption fee is $150 for folks residing in Houston. Tucker currently resides in Houston, Texas but is available for transport outside of Texas to most major airports via the United Petsafe Program for $225 which includes travel crate, health certificate, and airline fees. Grand total = $375 if outside of Texas. If you have any questions please email corridorrescue@gmail.com Thanks! (Less)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Felix is a snuggler and would prefer a new owner that likes a 'lap dog' although he's a little bit bigger than your typical one. This beautiful boy was born in 2012 (estimate) and weighs approximately 50 pounds. He has the silkiest, smoothest, black and white coat that is sure to impress. He's a happy guy, has a huge heart and lots of affection for his person. He is a one-person dog that prefers having his owner to himself! He is an American bulldog/ American Staffordshire terrier mix. Felix was found one day by our volunteers that feed the strays in the Corridor. The rescuers knew that with an injury, he wouldn't last long out there, so ... (Read More)it was his lucky day. Felix didn't know what a toy was when he was first introduced to them, but has since learned that he really likes them. He's smart and has learned how to drink out of a water fountain in just a couple of visits to the park. He has also been introduced to lots of other dogs and seems to prefer dogs his size or larger-the little, high energy ones seem to make him very anxious. He has been cat-tested and he decided for us that he needs to be in a cat-free home. When Felix went to the vet for his initial examination, it was determined that his leg injury was from quite a long time back and had already healed, although not perfectly. The vet told us that he uses it just fine and to try to surgically repair it at this point would probably not help him much at all and just put him through more pain. We have noticed that when he has super active days, he limps on it a little bit, but otherwise, it is just part of this sweet boy's story. Felix has been given a clean bill of health and is ready to find that loving person who likes to have just one big, cuddly lap dog to dote on. If you would like to foster or adopt Felix, please submit an adoption or foster application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Foster homes are provided with everything needed for the pup free of charge. Felix's adoption fee is $150.00 within Houston and $375 if outside of Houston, Texas.     Hi, my name is Mac and I'm looking for a single person or a couple to adopt me. I enjoy an active lifestyle, long daily walks in the neighborhood, spending my time with my owners, playing on a daily basis to keep us both fit and mentally engaged and cuddling on the couch in the evenings with a comfy blanket. You must love to play fetch, have a treat jar in the kitchen, and love to scratch behind my ears. In return, I will be your most loyal companion, exercise partner and friend for life. If you don't mind, I'll even sleep in your bed at night, but of course that is not a requirement. I seem to be a mix of American Staffordshire terrier and ... (Read More)hound of some kind and weigh around 45-50 pounds. I was born in about February of 2011 and was found wandering in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas looking for a place to land. I have a lot of energy to share with my active forever family! I am very affectionate and loving but with kids, my energy is a bit too much for them. I love them, but I get a little too excited and might end up knocking them over! I can't be around little pets like hamsters, little dogs, or cats either because my instincts tell me to hunt them, not pet them! Must be the hound in me talking.     STILL in boarding needs foster or home with no female dogs or cats LONDON brindle Stafforshire Terrier w quite a story London is a happy, gentle, outgoing, attentive, loyal, affectionate, lap dog that is a great walking companion. London is a pro on the leash thanks to one of our volunteers, London is walked 2 miles almost everyday. She is crate and house trained. The shelter had tried many time to help get London off the streets. She had lived as a homeless stray in an empty house for 2 year avoiding every attempt to be captured. During this time on her own, we think she suffered an injury to her right eye that blinded her in it. Don't think that makes her a handicapped dog for one second. A one eyed dog still sees 85% of their field of vision, so this does affect her at all. All dogs that have survived on their own for an extended amount of time acquire problem solving skills that a dog never in their situation will ever have. London is very clever and smart and quickly learned to love from the kindness she was shown by the shelter staff. She would great in a home with a playful non-alpha male or as the only pet.     You can meet Madison at Petco Saturday from 1:30-5:30 located at 4001 W. Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington Texas Hi, I'm MADISON (but you can call me Maddie or Sunny, as long as you also call me YOURS). I'm an American Staffordshire Terrier / Pyrenean Shepherd mix (and I have the DNA test to prove it), which means my love of playing 'fetch' was literally bred into me. I love to run and jump up into the air to catch a ball, and most of the time, I'm happy to give it back to you to throw again. My foster-family says I'd be awesome at flyball. Well, I jump so high it's like flying, and it's a word that has 'ball' in it, so they're probably ... (Read More)right. When I'm not playing fetch, I love to cuddle on the couch while you're watching TV or reading. Give me a bone to gnaw (I'm fond of those rawhide 'retriever rolls' even though I'm not a retriever), and I'll lie at your feet with it 'til it's gone. AmStaff's are often used as watchdogs, which is great for me because I love to watch things. Specifically, I like to watch squirrels, and consider it my special task to prevent the Squirrel Invasion. Those floofy-tailed monsters won't come near you when I'm on alert. Despite my constant vigilance, I don't really bark a lot, though, so you don't have to worry about me annoying the neighbors. At almost three years old and about 60 pounds, I'm still incredibly active and playful, but I've long since grown out of all those annoying puppy habits people often worry about. I'm crate trained, but I also have excellent house manners. I'm very clean, I'm already spayed, I've got a microchip (which my foster-mom insists is a tracking device and NOT a kind of food) and I'm up-to-date on all my shots. I'd prefer to be your only dog - let's face it: this much awesome should NOT have to compete for your attention - but if you have a male dog already, I'll probably get along fine with him. I'm kind of a diva though, so no other female dogs, please, and I'm not a fan of cats (What? You're not supposed to chase them??) either. KIDS on the other hand make me happy'|I look forward to teaching them how to play fetch. I'm told that my breeds are known for being owner-oriented, incredibly loyal, and kind of stoic (I think that means calm). If you've seen me at adoptions, you probably know I don't 'show' well when I'm crated. I promise, I'm a completely different dog if you take me OUT of my crate, so please don't be shy. I've been with my foster-family for over a year, and I love them, and they love me, but I'd really love it even more if I had a forever family of my VERY OWN.     Beauty is what the volunteers named this precious girl the day she was rescued. It was true that day and every day since, but now we know it applies to her personality too. Beauty is about 2 years old, 44 pounds, healthy and desperately seeking her new family. We say desperately because she's an affection seeker and belly rub lover. You can see it in her eyes that she loves people and just wants to be with them. Beauty gets along well with adults, kids, dogs, and goats-yes, Beauty lives with 2 goats. She's curious about the cats and seems to want to interact with them, but so far we've let her sniff while supervised. She's a lover, so ... (Read More)everyone is welcome in her pack. Her most enjoyable moments are running through the yard and of course, laying down for a good belly scratch. When she is running really fast through the yard, she tucks her bum down and it is so cute and wonderful to see her happy. We actually haven't seen an unhappy day for Beauty since the day she was rescued. She has put the past behind and is focusing on the future and living life with her new people. Beauty walks nicely on her leash, but since she likes to run through the yard so much, we think she might be a great running partner with a little practice. She knows the command sit and easy when taking a treat gently already, and with a little training, she will easily be able to master other commands. She loves to chase the ball, but the chase is all that is in it for this girl, so we won't call her a master fetcher. She LOVES to ride in the car on any adventure you are on, even if it's just a ride to the park or the store. The ideal family for Beauty is active, fun and affectionate, which also describes her to a T. She's a healthy girl that is just waiting for the perfect family to come scoop her up. If you would like to adopt Beauty, please fill out an adoption application at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Her adoption fee is $150.     Hi, I'm Miel. I'm a cute little honey. After all, I was given the name Miel because I'm so adorable, and Miel is the Spanish word for honey. I was born around January 2014. I'm a medium-sized girl of about 48 pounds, and not expected to get any bigger. Someone left me out to fend for myself in a parking lot, but luckily a nice lady from Corridor Rescue came and took me into her home. I am a little pit mix, but my exact breeds are unknown. All you need to do is get out a leash, and I will start making the cutest little squeaking noise. It's so much fun to walk around the neighborhood and see what's happening. Unless it's raining, which means thunder, and that is scary for me. Most of all, I love to snuggle up closer to my people. At bedtime, I love to cuddle up with you and nuzzle you with my nose. I love to be affectionate with my people, and would love an owner that likes to protect and coddle me. Like a human baby! When you come home, I am so happy to see you that I'll literally jump into your arms and nuzzle you with kisses. I haven't been around children yet, but would probably do wonderfully with an older child that could handle my passion for life!     Hey there! My name is Little Boy Blue, but my foster mom just calls me Blue. I am about 1.5 years old and am a pittie mix. My foster mom says I'm a pocket pittie, since I'm only 40 lbs, and that I have the BEST ears ever! I'm also a tripod. I had to have my back leg amputated because I had been hit by a car before my foster mom found me and it had healed all wrong. I'm not like a typical back leg amputee though, I don't have a nub. They had to take my whole leg, including the hip. But don't let that scare you! I get around GREAT, if not better, now that I'm not dragging a painful leg around. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hey everyone, I'm Jemma! I'm a staffie mix that is about 5-6 years old, but that doesn't slow me down one bit! I am an active dog that also thoroughly enjoys hanging out on the couch or napping with my people. I'm about 40 lbs and won't get any bigger. Foster mom says I'm a complete love bug! I absolutely LOVE people, especially children of all ages, but I am really not a fan of kitties. I need to be either the only dog in the house or be with a young submissive dog because I'm the queen bee! and can be kind of bossy. I am potty and crate trained. My foster mom calls me a hoarder because I steal blankies and put them in my kennel. I have a ... (Read More)great collection of them in there now! My foster mom says she can't stress enough how much I love kids and adults and I just want to please you and be the center of attention. I am being fostered in Houston, Texas, and unfortunately, we are overwhelmed with adoptable pets. We know that people in the north love all friendly doggies! I am is ready to go, bags packed, just shoot us an email and let us know you will love me forever! (Less)

Orion is fully trained as a world class ballerina! Growing up on the mean streets, but not being mean, led Orion to the shelter of a ballet studio'|where he picked up the trade and quickly found he was a natural. Traveling from show to show has taken him around the world and he has seen it all'|but had to retire early due to a serious eyelid injury (never mention The Madagascar Incident around him!!). Upon retiring, Orion returned to his roots in Fifth Ward, where he quickly discovered was not the right place for a ballerina and his pink tutus!! Needless to say, Orion has had a tough retirement. We found him hiding under a vacant house ... (Read More)with bite wounds from head to toe. He was swollen, infected, battered & bruised, but could still pirouette with the best of them!! Probably due to his days in the limelight, Orion loves attention and will do whatever you need him to do as long as he can be by your side. Whether keeping your feet warm while you read a good book or walking with you on an evening stroll through the neighborhood, Orion is ready & willing. Orion is a playful 'kid' who aims to please. He loves all people and most dogs but, due to his rough past, needs to be in a home with no other dominant males. Orion will not start a conflict but he also will not always back down from one.     Jimbo is a playful, fun-loving boy who wants to be a part of everything you do'|he can't get enough quality time with you! He aims to please. He wants to make you happy and feels bad when he disappoints (which is not very often). Jimbo loves every person he's ever met and absolutely LIGHTS UP when kids are around!! He will make a wonderful family companion. Jimbo can be very insecure in new environments and fearful of other dominant dogs (especially other males). Due to his insecurities and issues with certain dogs, Jimbo should be part of an active family familiar with the breed and capable of satisfying his needs. He will do best in a ... (Read More)home with larger dogs (female) that do not pose a threat to him. Jimbo is a 50lb American Staffordshire Terrier. He was 'nanny' to three kids but not contained well or exercised enough so he kept escaping & getting into trouble. Since with foster (and being neutered), Jimbo has learned what it means to be an integral part of a pack and no longer wants or tries to escape. He is a very joyful dog who really lights up the room with his energy. Jimbo is fully house & crate trained'|he will not go to the bathroom or destroy anything as long as you're gone. He can sit, lay down and come here and knows his name very well. He is fully up to date on all vetting, neutered and micro-chipped. He gets along great with people and submissive dogs. Jimbo needs a family with kids old enough to manage him and with medium to large dogs more on the submissive side'|if any. He would be a great only dog because he loves 100% of your attention. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hope is an affectionate, protective, and loyal Staffordshire Terrier mix. She's about 18 months old (11/2013) and weighs approximately 40 lbs. She has a snowy white coat with a few tan freckles on her ears and a chocolate kiss of a nose. Hope was dumped on an elementary school campus. When the groundskeepers found her, they tied a rope around her neck and drug her out of the gates, forcing her onto a busy street. She was thin and both ears were horribly infected, but she has become a very healthy little lady! Hope loves to play ball, frisbee, and take walks. She loves to meet new people, and is very good with children of all ages. She gets ... (Read More)a long well with all dogs, but she is NOT at all a fan of felines. Hope does have low hearing abilities, most likely due to the ear infections she had when we found her. So she is not entirely deaf and is quite good on picking up things happening around her with her eyes and vibrations. Her low hearing is not something you pick up on right away. She has adapted to it very well and even knows hand signals. The ideal home for Hope would be one with one other dog about her size or just her as an only dog. She loves attention, loves to be by your side and usually is leaning on you or has one paw touching you. She will be a loyal companion and all she will ask for is your love and attention. Hope has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and preventives and is house- and crate-trained. She has also had professional training and has gone above and beyond our expectations. Hope's adoption fee is $125.     Betty is a true survivor! Sole heiress to the throne in a small Turkish Province (the Queen was a dog lady), Betty was cast out of her Royal Family because she fell in love with a peasant hound and refused to abandon him, at all costs! As part of her banishment she was fashioned with a very tight metal cable around her neck and tied by rope from her neck to a remote cactus, deep in West Texas somewhere. She managed to survive by eating the cactus until she finally ate it down below the rope that held her captive. But the damage was done, she grew up tied to that cactus and her adult neck was now much bigger around than when the cable & rope ... (Read More)were tied on. Both had become nooses, cutting into her skin & leaving open wounds. When I found her she was dragging both, near starved to death and with a look of fear and concern in her eyes that would make anyone stop to help. She was so happy when I removed them that she ran as fast as she could in big circles and has been my best buddy every since! She's a very sweet girl who loves her people deeply and will do anything for you. She wants nothing more than to make you happy and she goes about doing it with such contagious joy that it makes you stop & smile. She loves to play and is a pretty goofy girl, jumping and circling as if she's putting on a show for you. Betty will make a great addition to any family so come meet her today and get a glimpse of what true royalty is all about! (Less)
