Rescue Me ID: 17-10-09-00131Cheerio - URGENT (male)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cheerio is currently in one of the 'kill pounds' that we help. He is about 18 months old, a stunningly gorgeous sleek black and white boy around 50 lbs. We need a foster to adopt situation for Cheerio in order to save him. 'Foster to Adopt' allows RARE to provide all the necessary vetting that Sterling needs, while he is acclimating to his potential adoptive home. Unfortunately, staffordshire terriers and other pit bull type dogs end up being long term fosters and we already have many in foster homes waiting for adopters. Cheerio is heartworm negative and tested well with other dogs. We tested him with a small male dog and he just wanted to ... (Read More)play. However, RARE would do a meet and greet and perform a proper introduction if you have another dog to make sure they would get along. There are no cats at the pound, but if you have cats, we can test him at another location. He is very loving and sweet with people and is higher energy since he is still somewhat 'puppy'. He pulls a bit on a leash, but walks pretty well after a few moments of getting some good sniffs in. Unfortunately, Cheerio only has until this Friday or he will be euthanized. So, we are working with a limited time table. If you need an awesome buddy to watch tv with or go hiking Cheerio is your boy! If you would like to commit to foster to adopt Cheerio, apply today at RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org as soon as possible, as time is of the essence. My adoption fee is $85.00 I am spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, kept on heartworm preventative and micro-chipped prior to adoption. In order to meet or adopt me, please complete the online application at RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org PLEASE NOTE: Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a lifetime commitment to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. An application and home visit/meet & greet are required. A RARE representative (normally the President and/or foster parent(s) will bring the animal of interest to the home in order to ensure the right fit, perform meet & greet and answer any questions, go over vaccination and other vet paperwork etc.. An adoption trial may commence at that time, if RARE and potential adopter(s) are in agreement. Please complete the application on our website www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org and we will call you to explain the adoption process in more detail and answer any questions you may have. *If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 4 hours driving distance due to limited resources and difficulty ensuring the right match, especially if there are already animals in the home. **All of our pets are, or will be, spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE! *****AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT ARE REQUIRED***** Please visit www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. Animal ID: DutchessDutchess (female)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Well, hello there! Thank you for taking a look at my profile! If you are looking for an active, compact, super friendly and loving dog, then you've come to the right place! My name is Dutchess and I am about 3-4 years old and 35 lbs. I am a muscular and stocky mauve colored staffordshire mix, but I'm rather on the small side. I am currently in foster care and loving it. I am completely crate trained and I have not had one accident in the house. I have been around dogs, cats and children and I love them all. My heart is as big as my smile and I just can't stop smiling! The humans that had "owned" me before over-bred me for a long ... (Read More)time, so I am very grateful that my breeding days are over. I can now enjoy being cared for instead. I could be ok as an apartment dog if I had a few walks or runs throughout the day. I would REALLY like to have a fenced yard or an enclosed area for exercise because I really do like to run, but I mostly want to be with you! So, even though I like to get in a good "zoomie" or two around the yard after doing my business, I want to come right back inside and be a part of whatever your doing. I want to be part of a family and not just be "owned" by one. My foster mom says that I give the best kisses, I just need to contain how excited I get because I love people SO SO much! If you are looking for a super friendly, all around fun girl with a great temperament, then look no further! Apply for me today so we can meet! I am spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, kept on intestinal parasite and heartworm preventative, and microchipped, all of which is covered under my adoption fee of $85.00. Please visit www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. If you have any trouble, please email us at RuralAnimalRescueEffort@gmail.com Please allow us at least 24 hours to respond, as we are a volunteer based organization with full time jobs in addition to rescue. If you do not hear from us within 72 hours, please feel free to email us at RuralAnimalRescueEffort@gmail.com to inquire on the status of your application. **An application and home visit are required. Transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes. Please ask us for more information if you are not in Tennessee** **All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have.** Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption.
