Meet Roxene! She is a 4 year old female presumed staffy/border mix who weighs 44lbs. She is sweet, gentle, and well behaved. Roxene loves to make new friends, both human and canine. Cats....not so much--she is looking for a cat free home. Roxene is a big fan of toys and is looking for a new fetch partner for balls and snow flakes. Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter, 1420 Brookside Blvd. 1.5 miles off I-5. in Merlin. Oregon. hours: Monday -Friday 10-4:30pm Saturday 10-4pm. http://www.jocoshelter.com/ copy into your url follow instructions ... click on PET ADOPTIONS and scroll to adoption application. With few exceptions Dogs are current on vaccinations, rabies, spay or neutered, and microchipped upon adoption PLEASE READ ENTIRE NOTATIONS BELOW. The most common question is 'Good with Cats?' If we know has lived with cats or farm animals will be stated above in biography. Otherwise- we don't know. If you inquire by email- please tell us about you, your family, your yard, other animals, children, and your expectations of your new pet and what your new pet can expect from you. When you do so, we can better address your inquiry. Shelter number 541 474-5458 for status of availability as some may have been adopted since this post, and about any pending spay/neuter surgery if noted as sometimes spay/neuter appointment may be sooner if a cancellation is available. Dogs noted as a Great American Shelter Dog are noted as such because we are not sure of the breed and can only give out best guess. See more at: www.savethewhiskers.org Alternate Contact Raleigh@savethewhiskers.org or text 541 660 6578 name of dog. It is always nice if you send an inquiry about a specific adoptable guest via email to tell us about you, your family and other pets, your yard, and most importantly, your expectations of your new family member so we can answer your questions appropriately as best as possible. Please, if you email an inquiry, please understand that these animals are in the shelter for a variety of reasons: Their lives are upside down maybe because owner died, they got lost, were abandoned, owner lost home or had a life event that left their pet in need of a new home. We don't always know how they will get along with all dogs, all children. Some won't be a perfect family member right away! They will need love, patience, a strong owner who will let them know what is expected of them and what they can expect from their new family. It may take an afternoon or it may take a week or so! But they need homes and families who will bring them back to knowing what family is! Puppies: Please understand they are puppies; not potty trained; not good or bad with kids, dogs, cats. They are pliable puppies ready for you to imprint good manners, social skills, and training. You are encouraged to follow up with training after they are finished with shot series and or at the direction of your veterinarian. A happy healthy well socialized puppy is a happy family! You may be asked to make a refundable deposit for spay/neutering. Inquire at the Shelter. General Adoption Fees for Dog: Adult dogs and puppies- $125, Senior dogs 7 and over $50. Veterans are half price / $62.50 with presentation of government issued VA ID. For Josephine County fee includes first year licensing. Please visit the shelter or if need special arrangements for meet and greet please email me. If you have a dog- encourage you to bring also. Staff may be unable to answer calls right away, so you may contact me via email if you cannot get to shelter right away! You are encouraged to make your best effort to go during normal business hours. Note: Often times we are asked 'what about cats'?' Please be advised that we cannot guarantee a dog's behavior with a cat; sometimes the dog is fine with a cat- but cat not so happy about his canine intruder! If we know emphatically that a dog could take issue with a cat, livestock or chickens- will be stated in body of biography! |Rescue Me ID: 17-09-26-00013Meadow (female)|
Now that I have your attention =) I'm kind of a local super star, I was front page news. Hi Everyone! I'm Meadow a red nose boxer-pitbull, chunky monkey, mix The vet thinks she is 2 to 3 years old. The lady that found me works with Cesar Millian and his master trainers. I've been told that I know basic commands, house broken, I don't chew, I love love love hard Kong toys. Cesar told my trainer that I can be an ambassador for the breed, because I'm such a good girl. I'm dog friendly (as you can see from the photos) but I prefer to be the only one getting my parent(s) attention. Yes, I'm spoiled and I like all the attention for me, so I would prefer to be the only pet in the home. I will be your best friend. Ill go anywhere with you and snuggle when your sick or want some company, I'll greet you at the door and show you my toy, I'll go on car rides and hikes or even out to Sunday brunch, I just want to be your best friend. I'm a super sweet girl I attach to her humans easily. My whole body shakes and wiggles with excitement when you come home. I love belly rubs and will even cry and howl when you don't give them to me. I'm not a fan of cats, I rather chase them then hang out with them. I'm currently in a great foster home in Portland, but I'm hoping my fur-ever family will find me soon. My adoption fee is $50. I have all my shots and I spay. This is my back story from the lady that found me: Let me tell you what I do know about Meadow. She was dumped in a SOCAL neighborhood one of the neighbors knew I was a dog person and asked if I can help after about a week we were able to catch her. I looked for over a month for her owners and they never appeared. No microchip, no missing fliers, no notifying the shelters, nothing. With the high kill rate in shelters, I refused to take her to a shelter. I took her and got all of her shots done had, her spayed she stayed with me, where she met with our trainer on several occasions (and was assets my Cesar Millian). She got along fine with my dogs however this was not a introduce her to my dogs and they played the first day this was about a week of slow introduction where the dogs could see each other, but could not interact. Then it was about another week of taking pack walks, but keeping them separate in the house and then day by day we would allow them a little time together a little time together until we felt comfortable. Meadow loves her toys and if another dog tries to take her toys she is not happy about that (I however can easily take her toys). She absolutely adores humans she's very, very, very attached to her human, loves to snuggle she's very protective of her humans. I'm not sure what her past was before we got her, but with us she's basically been a one person dog, so she's used to having all the attention. I moved her to Oregon with a friend as I thought she would have a better chance at being adopted there. My friend has no other dogs, so her time and attention is fully focused on Meadow and Meadow thrives on that! (Less)

|Animal ID: DUDLEYDUDLEY (male)|
Dudley is small in size, but he is all muscle; surprisingly, weighing about 54LB. His foster lives in a large, fenced property in the Portland suburb. He is looking for a forever home. He loves the country setting, and he also loves riding in a car. A very well mannered dog for a travel companion. He is respectful toward the other adult large breed female dog at his foster home, and he adores the 2 young boys (7 & 10) that he is living with. It is clear that he will do well in a home with kids over 5; young enough to run around & play with, but also old enough to understand that a dog is not a toy. He will do better in a home where he is the only dog in the house. He is the type of dog that will get jealous, when his humans split their love to the other canines in the house. He needs to be the only prince in the house. He takes treats very gently from kids. He loves kids. He is crate trained and potty trained. He needs lots of daily exercise; to stay sound and fit, and needs mental stimulation, to keep him entertained & happy. DUDLEY enjoys long walks; and the opportunity to run freely in a safely-enclosed area, to stretch his powerful legs & burn off his energy. He is NOT a good fit in a dog park setting. His humans must be willing to take him to walk on the trails & hiking; to keep him well exercised. When he doesn't get enough exercise, or if he is left alone for long periods of time, he can become depressed, bored, frustrated and/or destructive. This is a curious dog - not hyperactive like some breeds, but definitely NOT a couch potato; he is also quite inquisitive about his environment. Age: almost a year old. Weight: 54 LB (current), fully grown will be around 60 LB. He is a Staffordshire & Dogo Argentino mix pup. ANY SERIOUS INQUIRIES, please email: email@example.com. To have a meeting with Dudley, please fill out the form FIRST. Copy & Paste the following link to your web browser: https://goo.gl/forms/xh4lxvWEK8JLiOlx2 Please keep in mind, our adoption process may take 2 to 3 weeks; we need to be able to see your level of patience. Dogs are NOT just a commodity; you don't go out shopping for a rescued dog, and expect to be treated like a 'customer'. We are not in a BUSINESS for making money; therefore, you are NOT our customers. OUR DOGS ARE the main focus of everything we have done; and, continue doing so. If you are in a rush to getting a dog, we will suggest that you adopt a dog at the local shelters, where you will be able to take the dog home faster. We are working tirelessly to make sure our dogs find their forever home ONCE & STAY there until their time has come. We always maintain good relationships with all our adopters. If you feel like our existence, PASCA adoption, will be a nuisance instead of assistance; then, please DON'T bother to apply to adopt from us. Yes, we are very selective, when it comes to the well being of our dogs. Thank you for reading. (Less)
