Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Old? Who said old? Didn't you know it's rude to point out a fella's age? I see myself as in my prime, baby! I'm Bowser. I weigh 62lbs and shelter staff thinks I am around 8-9 years young. I'm certainly quite active for an older guy--I love to play with other dogs, meet new people, go on walks, you name it! I'm down for whatever life throws my way, and I do it with a smile. Be careful if you meet me--you might just fall in love with my big personality! My adoption fee is $50. Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter, 1420 Brookside Blvd. 1.5 miles off I-5. in Merlin. Oregon. hours: Monday -Friday 10-4:30pm Saturday 10-4pm. ... (Read More)http://www.jocoshelter.com/ copy into your url follow instructions ... click on PET ADOPTIONS and scroll to adoption application. With few exceptions Dogs are current on vaccinations, rabies, spay or neutered, and microchipped upon adoption PLEASE READ ENTIRE NOTATIONS BELOW. The most common question is 'Good with Cats?' If we know has lived with cats or farm animals will be stated above in biography. Otherwise- we don't know. If you inquire by email- please tell us about you, your family, your yard, other animals, children, and your expectations of your new pet and what your new pet can expect from you. When you do so, we can better address your inquiry. Shelter number 541 474-5458 for status of availability as some may have been adopted since this post, and about any pending spay/neuter surgery if noted as sometimes spay/neuter appointment may be sooner if a cancellation is available. Dogs noted as a Great American Shelter Dog are noted as such because we are not sure of the breed and can only give out best guess. See more at: www.savethewhiskers.org Alternate Contact Raleigh@savethewhiskers.org or text 541 660 6578 name of dog. It is always nice if you send an inquiry about a specific adoptable guest via email to tell us about you, your family and other pets, your yard, and most importantly, your expectations of your new family member so we can answer your questions appropriately as best as possible. Please, if you email an inquiry, please understand that these animals are in the shelter for a variety of reasons: Their lives are upside down maybe because owner died, they got lost, were abandoned, owner lost home or had a life event that left their pet in need of a new home. We don't always know how they will get along with all dogs, all children. Some won't be a perfect family member right away! They will need love, patience, a strong owner who will let them know what is expected of them and what they can expect from their new family. It may take an afternoon or it may take a week or so! But they need homes and families who will bring them back to knowing what family is! Puppies: Please understand they are puppies; not potty trained; not good or bad with kids, dogs, cats. They are pliable puppies ready for you to imprint good manners, social skills, and training. You are encouraged to follow up with training after they are finished with shot series and or at the direction of your veterinarian. A happy healthy well socialized puppy is a happy family! You may be asked to make a refundable deposit for spay/neutering. Inquire at the Shelter. General Adoption Fees for Dog: Adult dogs and puppies- $125, Senior dogs 7 and over $50. Veterans are half price / $62.50 with presentation of government issued VA ID. For Josephine County fee includes first year licensing. Please visit the shelter or if need special arrangements for meet and greet please email me. If you have a dog- encourage you to bring also. Staff may be unable to answer calls right away, so you may contact me via email if you cannot get to shelter right away! You are encouraged to make your best effort to go during normal business hours. Note: Often times we are asked 'what about cats'?' Please be advised that we cannot guarantee a dog's behavior with a cat; sometimes the dog is fine with a cat- but cat not so happy about his canine intruder! If we know emphatically that a dog could take issue with a cat, livestock or chickens- will be stated in body of biography! Animal ID: 010DUDLEY (male)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

010 is small in size, but he is all muscle; surprisingly weight almost 60LB for that size! He is temporarily living at a large fenced property with 2 of his foster siblings. He is looking for either a longer term foster or an adopter. He love the country setting, but he also loves riding in a car, well mannered for a travel companion. He is respectful toward the adult female dog at his foster home and adores the 2 young boys (7 & 10 y.o) he is living with. It's clear that he will do well in a home with kids over 5 years old; young enough to run around play with but also old enough to understand that a dog is not a toy. He will do better in ... (Read More)a home where there is another friendly adult female dog in the house to play and look up as a role model. He takes treats very gently (this litter has been trained since age 5 weeks old; VERY GENTLE when taking anything from little kids hands). He is crate trained and almost 100% potty trained too. He will come with his NO pull specialty harness Canine Equipment brand (as shown on his profile pic) and his favorite toys. Activity Level: He needs lots of daily exercise to stay sound and fit and mental stimulation to keep him entertained and happy. DUDLEY enjoys long walks and the opportunity to run freely in a safely-enclosed area to stretch its powerful legs and burn off his energy. When he doesn't get enough exercise, or if it is left alone for long periods of time, it can become depressed, bored, frustrated and/or destructive. This is a curious dog - not hyperactive like some breeds, but definitely NOT a couch potato; he is also quite inquisitive about his environment. Age: almost 9 months Gender: Male Weight: 55-56 LB (current), fully grown will be around 70-75 LB. He is a Staffordshire & Argentine Mastiff mix pup. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-11-00191Sammie (female)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sammie is a muscle-bound, energetic 5 year old Staffordshire terrier, who is currently in foster care and doing well. She has a lot of energy, is very athletic, and LOVES her chew toys. She will play fetch for hours on end. In fact, you will often see her cram as many toys in her mouth as she can...quite a comical little girl. She connects well with her people and loves to hang out in the house with them. She is house broken, kennel trained, not destructive in the home, and does fairly well walking on leash. She is obedient, will sit for her food and jumps right in the tub for a bath. It's as if getting a bath was a normal routine in her ... (Read More)former life or she just LOVES to play in water! Therefore, a kiddie pool is this girl's dream. She gets along with most dogs, but doesn't do well with some females. So, an introduction with other dogs in the home is a must to make sure it is a good fit. She does a bit of resource guarding, which may need to be managed. Sammie will bark at strangers and cats, but otherwise is fairly quiet in her foster home situation. She would not do well in a home with cats, but seems to get along most children. Of note, is that when Sammie is fixated on her toys, it can be difficult to get her attention away from the toys. In fact, she prefers to chew on rocks, which can be hazardous and will need to be monitored. So, while there are a few minor issues with this girl, she is a pleasure to have in her foster home and would make a good companion dog for most anyone. For more information or to set up a time to meet Sammie, please call her foster mom, Michelle, at 510-589-7341 or the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 541-774-6654. (Less)
