Max is a very smart dog and needs a home with a lot of attention. He loves to play and is crate trained. He is a very good guard dog and would do good in a home with room to run and play outside.

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-04-00211BALOO (male)
Baloo is a stunning boy just waiting for his home. Unfortunately he has to be kept in his own room due to the other dogs in the home not wanting him there...as you can imagine he is growing quite lonely. Baloo is a little over a year old and is currently in training for some basic puppy behavior....and doing very well in the short time he has been working on his manners. He seems to be good with dogs although he did have to defend himself with another male that did not like him so we are not sure about other males and categorizing him as 'females only' just from past experience. He is great with kids but does not like cats. He is neutered, utd and microchipped. He would make a great companion for an active, outdoorsy family. He's just a big lug that is going to make someone very happy! Application and home visit required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-18-00579Grace (female)
my name is Grace, and I am about 5 years old. I am the only girl-dog amongst these boys and I am very good at keeping them in line. I am always gentle, but very firm just - like a mother should be. My best friend is Bruno, and I like him so much that sometimes I sneak into his kennel and sleep in his bed in order to stay cozy and warm. I love blankets. I mean, I don't know who invented blankets, but I think they are great. My favorite thing ever is to cozy up with a soft blankie and go to sleep after a long day of telling Bruno and Cashew how to play outside. I was found about a year ago in Litchfield, Connecticut with my friend Bruno. They think I had just had puppies. Today, I am being fostered by two nice humans, but I would really like to find a forever-human. I have been spayed and I am up to date on all of my shots. I am nice with other dogs, but I don't really like cats. I am very loyal, and the human that adopts me will have a friend for life. I am very dedicated to my human, and would do anything to make that human happy. I mean, you should see how I keep the boys out of my foster mom's way when she is trying to clean our kennel! I am very pretty, but I hate taking photos: I have no patience for that. I love going for walks, and I am always very friendly with the humans I meet on the street. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-09-00099Cashew (male)
My name is Cashew. I don't only love humans, I love just about everything. I love cats, dogs, humans, blankets, the wind, chasing bees, eating...I really love eating. My foster human says I weigh about 50 lbs., whatever that means. I think that's why she calls me 'meatball.' I don't know what a meatball is, but it sounds delicious. She tells me I have a hard time keeping my figure, but that it's OK: it's one of my endearing qualities. I am happy pretty much all of the time. I absolutely love going for walks, and I think my foster mom loves taking me - she says I am perfect on the leash. Oh and one very important fact about me is that it could be raining, snowing or very cold outside and I still will never go potty inside my kennel. Today I am about 4 years old. I owned a human before, but these humans had me, another lady dog and a disabled child. I think it became too much for them to handle, so they abandoned me on the streets of Watertown, Connecticut with my tags and collar on and I was picked up by Animal Control. Today I am being fostered and sponsored by two nice humans. I am neutered and up to date on all of my shots, and I have been micro-chipped. I dream of a nice human who I could take care of. I want a human that will go for long walks, play ball and chase bees with me. I am really playful and I love to give big kisses. I get along well with other animals because I am pretty easy going and I don't care who is in charge (as long as it is not me). If you would like to get to know me better, please contact my foster human via the Contact page. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-09-00081Bruno (male)
I stopped chasing bees in my foster human's backyard for a moment so I could tell you a little bit about myself. I am Bruno. I think I am pretty handsome, I mean, at least I think that's what other people think of me. Every time I take my foster human for a walk these other humans always interrupt us to let her know how pretty I am. I guess they're right. I mean, I sometimes look at my own reflection in the bottom of my water dish and I kind of like what I see. My best friend is Grace, she tries to tell me what to do and I kind of let her - you know how lady dogs can be, always telling us what to do. I have known Grace since before 2013, and we are pretty close: we were found together by some humans from Animal Control in a public park in Litchfield, Connecticut. The humans say I was about 3 years old when I was found, so I am around 4 years old today. We weren't wearing tags or collars. We were placed in a temporary kennel with the hope that our former humans would eventually claim us, but they never came. Thankfully, we became sponsored by two nice human ladies; they are currently taking care of us, but we are living in a private kennel. I don't mean to brag, and my life right now is OK, but I think I would make a great owner to any human. I am smart, and pretty attractive. I love long walks and I know some commands: my foster human always tells people I am great on a leash. I think the most special thing about me, though, is that I love humans more than anything, and what I dream of every night after dinner is to be able to curl up with a human and call them my own. I want to spend time with them, play with them and love them. I am pretty great with other dogs (both ladies and boys), so I don't mind sharing a human. However, I really don't like cats and I cannot live with cats. I am neutered, up to date on all my shots, love humans of all kinds as well as most other dogs. (Less)
